Bethesda Terrace sits at the heart of Central Park, at the north end of the Mall, overlooking the Lake and the Ramble. Designed by Calvert Vaux with Jacob Wrey Mould, the two-level terrace includes an arcade beneath the drive, and at its center stands Bethesda Fountain, crowned by Emma Stebbins’s Angel of the Waters, dedicated in 1873.
