About Le Chateau

Le Chateau is a Tudor-style brick and stone mansion on a hilltop in South Salem, in northern Westchester County, built in 1907 as Savin Rock, a country retreat J.P. Morgan commissioned for his pastor, the Rev. William S. Rainsford. After decades as a French restaurant, it was renovated, expanded and reopened in 2017 for weddings and private events, and it hosts one event at a time on its 25-acre estate.
